Note that all of the gases were retrieved from the same spectra and can therefore be considered as simultaneous measurements in the same airmass. Profiles for NO, NO2, and N2O5 have not yet been diurnally corrected using the procedue described by Sen et al. (JGR, 103, 3571, 1998) based on curves for dGAS/dSZA calculated by G. Osterman for conditions of this flight. Although these profiles are retrieved on a 1 km vertical grid, their real vertical resolution is 2 km. Therefore, a retrieved value cannot be considered independent of those at neighboring levels. Since we use CO2 absorption lines to determine the observation geometry, we cannot claim to also measure the CO2 profile. We therefore report the CO2 profile that was assumed in the determination of the viewing geometry. The errors tabulated in the main part of the data file represent the 1-sigma measurement precisions. These errors are appropriate for comparing MkIV profiles measured during different balloon flights. For most gases, the main systematic error in the retrieved profiles arises from the presence of (unknown and unacounted) horizontal gradients in composition, and by uncertainties in the spectroscopic parameters (of both the target gas and any interfering gases).
